Motorcycle Sprockets
Motorcycle sprockets are an integral part of getting the power from your engine to the road. Transferring all that energy will lead to some wear and tear over time so your front sprocket, rear sprocket and motorcycle chain will need regular maintenance and eventually replacement. Misshapen sprocket teeth won't be able to reliably transfer energy.
If you want a performance boost, you can go with a lighter weight sprocket for less rotating mass in your drive train. Aluminum motorcycle sprockets will be lighter, but not as durable as steel. You can get the best of both worlds by getting a motorcycle sprocket that uses heavy duty steel for the teeth and lightweight aluminum for the body of the sprocket.
You can also adjust the gearing by adding or removing teeth in the sprockets compared to stock. You would be changing the final drive ratio for higher top speed or quicker acceleration.
