Lowside Crash
I wanted to write another review after I lowside crashed in these. They rock! They saved my right leg from some major road rash, or other injury. I came up on a sharp right hand turn at about 45pmh-50mph, and the turn was covered in gravel. Needless to say the bike came out from underneath me. These pants saved my leg, and I'm grateful. I'm now buying another pair right now!

Just what I wanted
Removeable insulated lining and waterproof lining make these pants very flexible. Buying your true waist size means they will be pretty snug worn over jeans. Worn over long johns I would be good all winter. Works well with the Sedici jacket.

PROS: Breathable, Weather Resistant, Well Insulated, Comfortable

Could be awesome, but flawed.
I wanted to love these pants, they fit all my criteria for an all-season pant, and the reviews were generally very favorable, but they suffer from a problem that plagues many entry level or mid-grade pants. The inner fabric is loose in the leg, and the knee-armor pouch is A. too small, B. Not adjustable, C, flops around so it is useless. When seated on the bike the armor slips completely off the knee, when legs are extended at all, the armor flops to the shin area. In a get-off, the flimsy pad will not protect your knee I fear. This material should be sewed to remain more static, and adjustable for different height riders. There are pouches for hip armor, but they are positioned too low to protect bone. Useless. I wear strap-on-armor under these, now, because the protection that comes with them doesn't work. Except for that, they are nice and comfortable and good from the 30's to over 100 degrees. Whoever designed them has never ridden a motorcycle, but at least got temperature range right.

PROS: Affordable, Abrasion Resistant, Breathable, Comfortable

CONS: Armor Placement

BEST USES: Bad Weather, Street Riding

Poor craftsmanship
Less than a month in, the loop for the velcro at the beltline pulled the the fabric out through the seams. For this to happen, it had to have frayed inside the panel, which meant they failed to seal the edge either with proper stitching or a heat treatment. My worry is that if it comes apart through normal tension that it'll disintegrate should I hit the pavement. Thank goodness Cyclegear is good about warranties and returns!

CONS: Tears Easily

So Glad I Bought Them
I bought these pants 2 days before a 2,000 mile road trip from Charleston SC to Chicago and back. It was first week of October, and I experienced days that were 95 degrees, 35 degrees, dry and wet. The pants proved to be very comfortable & versatile. Plenty of air flow in the heat, and with rain liner and quilted warmth liners, very warm in the cold. They were also bone dry in severe rain conditions. They were kind of bulky walking around off the bike. Several times during the road trip I thought to myself "I'm so glad I bought these pants". The folks at Cycle Gear helped me choose these over the non-mesh winter pants, and these proved to be more than adequate. I'll appreciate the mesh during warmer months

Great riding pant
Was riding in weather in the high 30's, had both the rain liner and quilted insulated liner in with a light pair of thermals as a base layer. After 30 minutes of riding I had to open the leg vents. These pant are great!

Just what I was looking for
I picked these up about two weeks ago after looking for pants for quite some time. I was having a hard time finding pants that fit me well that weren't astronomically expensive. The Alexi 3 pants were just what I was looking for. They felt very long when I first tried them on but that makes for a much better fit when in the riding position. I live in Florida and I first wore these on a hot day with the liners out and they breathe VERY well...very good airflow. Yesterday it was cold and I rode all day with the liners in and I was kept very warm. The only thing I would change about them would be heavier armor and I wish it was held in place a little better. It shifts around when I walk so I can only assume it will shift around if/when I take a spill. Overall I'm very happy with these!

PROS: Stylish, Good Fit, Breathable, Good value, Well Insulated, Weather Resistant

CONS: Long When Not Riding, Armor Isn't Held In Place

Best bang for your buck
With all the liners in place these pants made me sweat within 3 mins standing in the garage. Kept me warm and dry when I took them out for a 2 hour spin on a rainy day up the Columbia River Gorge.

What fabric is the sedici alexi mesh pants made out of?

If I wear a normal 36 size waist what would be the best size for wearing over a pair of jean pants?
A C on Nov 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm a 34" waist. I bought the 34" pants and they fit PERFECT, so I would go one size up and you should be fine for wearing over jeans. You can always take the winter liner out too and it will make the pants fit even better over jeans.
