CE Level 2

CE Certified Level 2 Limb Protectors (shoulders, elbows, knees & hips)

What does CE Certification mean?

Limb Armor 2 EN1621-1:2012

There are two main CE standards relevant to impact protection:

EN1621-1:2012 Covers limb protectors (shoulders, elbows, knees & hips)
EN1621-2:2014 Covers back protectors

Armor is certified at either CE Level 1 or CE Level 2. It’s tested and assigned a rating based on how much impact energy reaches the body, a metric known as transmitted force. Lower transmitted force = better overall protection.

CE Level 2

The highest standard of impact protection available.

CE Level 1

The go-to, lightweight standard of impact protection.

CE Rated AAA

CE Certified Class AAA

What does CE Certification mean?

AAA EN17092-2:2020

What Is The CE Rating? The CE mark certifies compliance with strict European safety laws. To earn it, gear has to pass EN 17092—an independent lab test for for abrasion, seam strength, and tear resistance. After that, it’s assigned a specific protection class (A, AA, or AAA).

So, CE is the stamp of approval, EN 17092 is the specific test, and A/AA/AAA is the score.

CE Rated AAA

Tested at ~75 mph

The top level of protection available.

CE Rated AA

Tested at ~43 mph

An excellent balance of protection and comfort.

CE Rated A

Tested at ~28 mph

Baseline level of riding protection.

CE Rated B

Meets Class A abrasion-resistance protection standards, but comes without impact protection.

CE Rated C

Impact protection only. No abrasion resistance included.
