Filter0 Sort ByClear All
Like a bike that’s loud, but not too loud? Then exhaust baffles for your motorcycle are the best way to deaden those decibels to a respectable level. Cycle Gear’s selection of inserts and packing is all you need to get the job done. If neighbors are giving you looks or local law enforcement have told you to tone it down, we can help! Be sure to read up on the purpose and design of all exhausts, then find the silencer that’s right for your motorcycle.
Why should you install baffles?
A great question! First, the basics: As the name suggests, baffles help to restrain exhaust notes. The drilled insert is wrapped in fiberglass and works to stifle the exhaust gasses and associated sound that is created by a running engine. This slowed-down air makes things quieter and that’s a feature riders will appreciate for a number of reasons. For one, earplugs alone won’t save you from an exhaust with inefficient silencers so a long ride could quickly become unbearable. Another is that the bike is a bit more friendly around town, which makes local trips more enjoyable. You can add a baffle on your straight pipes to slightly subdue things or find a universal insert that’ll replace a tired stock component. Sheets of replacement packing work toward the same end of freshening up old OEM fiberglass that’s grown inefficient and dirty.
Need a straightforward weekend project with an important payoff? Then these inserts will help make a discernible difference in decibels. While you’re here, consider exhaust wrap as another way of altering exhaust performance!
