Video: Woman on scooter hit by car, and that's just the beginning of her bad luck

A security camera captured the common situation of a car driver turning left in front of a motorcyclist. It's what happened next that added indignity to insult to injury for the woman on the scooter.

Fortunately, other riders and pedestrians were able to pull a cover off the storm sewer and rescue her. She can be seen being carried away at the end of the video. Local media in Brazil quoted unnamed family members as saying she was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery, but survived.
