A one-two finish for the guys in orange in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle drag racing

Nov 17, 2025

Going into the final round of the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle drag racing championship this weekend in Pomona, California, there was no question that a RevZilla/Mission/Vance & Hines rider was going to be champion. The only question was which one. The surprise was the way it was decided.

Richard Gadson was declared the 2025 champion after the entire weekend of racing was washed out by a huge storm system that affected southern California. That meant that his teammate, RevZilla/Mission/Vance & Hines rider Gaige Herrera, did not get one last opportunity to try to catch him. Gadson's championship is the third consecutive title for the RevZilla-backed Vance & Hines team, with Herrera winning the past two years.

This season was the breakthrough year for Gadson, who stepped out of his teammate's shadow and won his first four career victories on his Suzuki Hayabusa. While Herrera had seven wins on the season, he couldn't overcome a few early-season losses to come back and take a third straight title.

“If you want to win out here you have to take it from great riders like Gaige Herrera, and they don’t give it up easily," said Gadson. "I always knew that if I could find my groove, I had the capability to be a champion. It was a goal, not an expectation because I knew getting there would be hard and take a lot of determination, grit and tenacity. I didn’t have a timeline, if it would be my first season, my second season or never, but I’m really happy the team believed in me and gave me the chance to be here.”

Though disappointed he didn't get a final shot at the title in Pomona, Herrara was quick to offer congratulations to his teammate. "He had one heck of a year, and we finished one-two in the championship, so as a team, we can’t ask for anything better. He deserves it,” Herrera said.
