I got 15,000 miles out of my set.
I ride a 2008 Yamaha r6. I commute with it during the summer and go carve the twisties any chance I get. I ride everywhere when it's not raining. Now for the tires; I got 15,000 miles out of my set which is far more than I ever thought I would get. These tires gave me confidence to lean farther than I ever had before. I've been caught in the rain numerous times and they always performed how I needed. I bought another set because I don't think I can get a better sport touring tire.

These are are very good tires!
The PR4s on my Triumph Street Triple R have gone a bit over 10,000 miles now, and they're getting close to needing replacement. They've still got a few hundred more miles to go, but the rear has squared off and it's about down to the wear bars and the front is getting close also. These are very good tires! Lots of feel and grip in the twisties (dry, 'cause this is So Cal and I don't need to do wet) makes me feel very confident and lets me fully enjoy my Striple. So ya know, I don't do track, but it wouldn't surprise me if these tires are great there too. And I hear they're great on wet roads.
I've had PR2s, PR3s and these 4s, in addition to other tires. But I gotta stick with Michelin Pilot Roads. They provide unbelievable mileage with handling that has never left me feeling less than sure-footed. Yes, they are a little pricier than some other tires, but when you factor in the tread life, you're still way ahead even if you do spend a little extra. Pay to play, bae.
Cycle Gear's a good store, and they price match if you do find a lower price. It's a good place to buy helmets and other gear too. I wish they were paying me to say this, but unfortunately that's not the case.

still alive +1
I've only had 8 months of experience with the pilot road 4 rear 160/60r17 that came with a 2nd hand 2007 suzuki sv650s. I've been only riding for 2 yrs & so I don't have much experience to go by. Is it normal to feel the rear end twitch during semi hard braking? Twitch may be too strong a word, but I definitely feel something. Is the sidewall to soft, should I add more psi? Anyways, I've survived loosing traction while braking after some jerk cut me off on wet road. The rear went sliding left right left right. Thank God I didn't go down. After that it met a nail. Stupidly I kept riding 10mi at 70mph before realizing why the rear was wiggling. Patched it with a plug, but while re-inflating it, it started deforming. Sigh. I wanted to try the T30 EVO but CG didn't have it in stock. Here's to another PR4. I hope this one will live longer.
