The Pilot Road 4 GT tires are already the OEM choice for the new BMW R1200RT.

Good Tire
Bought these for a 2013 BMW R1200RT. These are far better feeling than the original Metzlers. Nice and stable with a passenger, probably because of the stiffer sidewall.

PROS: 2 Up Stability, Good Cornering Grip

CONS: Should Have Bought Them S, Sooner

BEST USES: 2 Up Tourihg, Rainy conditions

Michelin tire - top of the line.
2016 BMW R1200RT
I just bought my new bike in march 2016
Put on 10k miles on it in that first year. Still had 3/32 left on the rear tire and 4/32 on the front tire. Rear tire was cupping a bit causing road noise when leaning side to side. Thought it might be a wheel bearing so I decided tires were close to end of useful life to just replace them also safety reasons too. You can replace a tire not a life. All in all great tire for a heavy bike. I could have gone 2,000 miles more but why ?
Replaced tires problem solved.
