S&S Cycle HP103 EZ Easy Start Camshaft Kit For Harley Twin Cam

For high output builds or situations where reliability matters most, the S&S Easy Start Cam Kit earns a place on the shortlist. S&S designed these cams for strong performance, then revised them to deliver easier starting without relying on compression releases, oversized batteries or expensive starters. Each cam uses a spring-loaded centrifugal compression release lobe built into the heel of the exhaust lobe. At cranking speeds, it opens the exhaust valve slightly during the compression stroke to reduce starting load. Once the engine starts and reaches 800 RPM, the lobe retracts from the tappet roller path, allowing normal operation with full compression.

Allows for easy start by initially reducing cranking compression, but once the engine starts and rpm increases, the compression release lobe is centrifugally retracted and the engine runs normally, with full compression, and without any loss in performance
