S&S Crankcase Reed Breather Valve For Harley Evo Big Twin

The S&S Reed Breather Valve is engineered for the powerful engines that struggle with oil leaks due to inefficient plastic rotary gears. This reed-style breather valve cleverly utilizes crankcase pressure to function, ensuring reliable performance without the need for rotating components. Its installation is straightforward and hassle-free; simply insert the valve into its designated slot and reassemble the cam chest — no timing marks to worry about. For engines with worn-out cases from previous nylon breathers, S&S offers a solution with an 0.030" oversize version. This allows a machinist to enlarge the breather bore, fit the Reed Breather Valve, and return the engine cases to active duty with confidence.

Features:

Breather is not dependent on the rotation of the crankshaft to make it open and close; instead, reeds open when the pressure in the crankcase becomes greater than the pressure in the cam chest and close when the pressure in the cam chest is equal to or greater than the pressure in the crankcase
By opening and closing "on demand," the reed valves automatically compensate for the lag time associated with accelerating the mass of air as it is forced out of the crankcase, increasing performance and stopping high-rpm oil carryover in engines with marginal piston ring seal
Installation is fast and simple; no aligning timing marks and no rotating parts
