S&S Cycle 585 Easy Start Camshaft Kit For Harley Twin Cam

S&S Easy Start Cam Kits belong on the shortlist for hot bikes and builds where reliability matters most. They deliver strong performance without the hassle of compression releases, oversized batteries or high-dollar starters. S&S engineered the Easy Start cams for power, then revised the design to make starting markedly easier. Each cam uses a centrifugal, spring-loaded compression release lobe milled into the heel of the exhaust lobe. At cranking speed, the lobe lifts the exhaust valve slightly during the compression stroke to reduce starting effort. Once the engine fires and reaches 800 rpm, the lobe moves out of the tappet roller path so the engine runs normally at full compression. Technology does have its place.

Start any engine regardless of displacement or compression ratio with a stock starter
Save your starter and battery; tested for 10,000 starts without running battery down
Allows for easy start by initially reducing cranking compression, but once the engine starts and rpm increases, the compression release lobe is centrifugally retracted and the engine runs normally, with full compression, and without any loss in performance
Available in chain drive and gear drive versions
All chain drive cams include installation kit
All gear drive cams include 4-gear set and installation kit

Designed for 88"-96" engines with compression ratios from 10-10.5:1 & 100"-107" engines with 9.7:1-10.5:1 compression ratios
Great results from 3000 RPM-6000 RPM
Comparable to Screamin' Eagle 211/251/257 cams or Andrews 31H/32H/50H/55H/67H
Can be used with stock pushrods, springs and lifters; high-lift valve springs may be required for some applications
