Initial Disapointed but Now WOW
I installed the H4 kit in my 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Classic. The bulb fit my headlight perfectly with no modifications needed.

This lamp has an aluminum shroud around it covering almost 3/4 of the lamp. The lamp is only open at the top, so only the top half of the headlight housing is able to reflect any light.

The light was much whiter than my Sylvania Ultra, but the Ultra seemed to do a better job lighting up the road because it's able to use the entire headlight housing to reflect the light. Almost went back to the Ultra, but decided to try a mod to the hid lamp.

On the bottom of the lamp shroud, there's a small squarish cut-out. I used my dremel to elongate that cut-out all the way to the round cap at the end - basically the same size as the opening at the top of the shroud. Now the light from the lamp is able to reflect off the bottom half of the headlight housing as well as the top and, WOW what a difference (see attached).

One other note. I didn't mount the ballast with the incluede sticky pad. I have some heavy duty velcro with really good adhesive and used that to mount the ballast and the relay.

Wasn't dissapointed
Overall I am happy with the product and will keep it. Install was easy, everything worked first time, harness and connectors were good quality, ballast was compact. When you include the size of the ballast, all the extra wires with the harness and connectors, plus the over-sized relay they include to switch hi/low beam, it became a bit cumbersome to try and hide everything. I purchased two and they both worked but the bulbs were off by about 100k in color temperature, visible if you were looking for it, but not otherwise noticeable. I noticed that the bulbs had some wiggle room because they move back and forward for hi/low beam (H4 bulbs), and you could see some vibration in the light when driving, but only very slightly so it wasn't bothering me at all.
So not perfect but good.

PROS: No modifications required, Good connectors, Compact

CONS: Slight vibrations visable, Had to run power cable

Not a direct drop-in, but usable
Installed on a 98 Buell Thunderbolt.
Total install time was under 1 hour, including removing and reinstalling the fairing.

As others have noted, the bulbs are not H4 standard. They lack the flat spot of a normal bulb and will require you to modify you housing. It took me about 30 seconds with a Dremel to carve out the unneeded plastic. The instructions give no indication of how to mount the bulb in the housing. I had to install it, wire it up and check the function of the high beam to get it installed correctly.

The light itself seems plenty bright, even in the stock housing. The high beam is mechanical, physically moving the element. I was impressed to find weather-tight connectors on all the high power leads.

Recommended, with the caveats listed above. If you want a plug and play installation, look elsewhere.

Great quality, low price.
I think the people giving this product a bad review have either, purchased the wrong kit, or do not know what they are doing durring installation. The H4 kit fits into an H4 housing perfectly, no dremeling needed. You will be very happy with this item if you buy the correct one, and install it correctly. I can see the ditches driving down the back roads so much better now. A must for any rider.

Wow I have to say I hate buying Chinese stuff. However I will give a little wiggle room, these things are cheap! Cheap in price! They are made with weather pack plugs or equivalent. All the crimps look good. The high beam function is still used. They incorporate a electromagnet this changes the focus point=high. The only thing I have to complain about is the bulb does not fit an H4 socket. This was my particular bike. A little dermal work and presto it fits. This light is wicked bright. I was behind a car on the highway during the day,and he checked the mirror. The original light was so bad I could never tell when it was on.

PROS: Small package, High and lo beam, Bright as hell, Easy Install

CONS: Not an exact fit

BEST USES: Day time, Night time, When you need to pass

I bought two of em just before Xmas. Just now got around to installing them. Install was a snap on my '02 Trophy, lots of room under the fairing for everything. The only drawback to the install, bulb units cannot be locked into a position. What I mean is that the bulbs only have friction to keep them from rotating. I have not had a chance to ride with them at night, just yet. In my shop though, they are bright. I really like the hi/low functionality of the H4 units.

Good Value, Easy Install into Harley
Easy, fast install into a Harley Batwing Fairing. You will have to run a 12vdc + lead to the control box, and hook up a ground wire, but that's a no brainer...Bulb is a exact replacement, direct fit, without mods. Works with factory wiring and switch.

PROS: Looks and Runs Cool, Easy Install, Ditch to Ditch Light

A must buy!
Was looking for a better source of light for a while now. Installed the H7 SM HID kit on my low beams and high beams. I was amazed. The light output was outstanding I can ride at night with my tinted visor with no visibility issues! i waited 6 months to write this review and the hid kit has been the best upgrade to my CBR to date.

A little help
Ok - The kit is far better than you would expect for the price and BOY O BOY is she bright!I wanna clear up the other neg comments that were made regarding loose bulbs. Its loose intentionally because it uses a electro mag to pull the bulb in and out for HIGH / LOW beam. It isnt broken. Some silly folks had complaints about it because they didnt fully understand how it worked. I am stoked with it for [$] (cost of a standard good bulb alone) I too had the dremel mods talked about by the other KTM review guy. I have mine on a 620 LC4 which the stock light is worthless and I now have a darn bright lite and am happy as HECK! BUY IT

What a big improvement
The oem bulb was a joke. This HID easy install and very bright.

PROS: Direct fit, Very bright, Works as designed

CONS: Sticky tape no good
