This replacement unit is newly manufactured, specifically designed for highly modified engines in touring bikes. It incorporates a permanent magnet motor paired with an OEM-style offset gear reduction case, offering a straightforward drop-in solution for addressing hard-starting issues in touring bikes.

Features:

Special pinion shaft threads and extended jackshaft bolt allow for a wider range of applications
Features oversize clutch rollers, cold headed steel idler gears and armature hairpins that are resistance-fused to the armature
4 gauge battery cables are recommended
Due to the high in rush current of a permanent-magnet motor a minimum 300 CCA battery is recommended
10/32 threaded output shaft
Replaces OEM 31553-90 / 31553-94
