The visor hinge screw/bolts are great, once you learn how they work also. These bolts allow you to remove the visor for cleaning, or to easily replace a scratched visor. The visor itself takes the most learning. It is hard to lift but what I do is use the tab on the side to begin to lift... then I shift my efforts to the middle and raise it up. I do this with one hand and it's easy now that I know what to do. Going down is a snap so once again you must develop your own style to make it all work. Once you do, it's perfect! I'd buy this again... in a heartbeat. So should you! Be sure when you first try it on... get a tight... almost uncomfortable fit. It will expand in a short time and as it stretches out, it will perfectly fit your head.
I very strongly recommend the high visibility color. I say this for two reasons. One is they say cars cant see bikes and thats certainly true, as many experienced riders and even the teachers will tell you. The second reason is I notice cars do see me when wearing this color... and I never have a problem being seen. My last helmet was black and comparing the difference is extremely noticeable! When I wore my old black helmet, no one could see me. I thought it was personal. Now... wearing the high visibility color for over a year, cars give way even when they shouldn't. I now see it was never personal. Cars simply can't see bikers & I can't stress this enough. So don't hesitate to buy this helmet and the high visibility color... is an absolute must!
My only complaint is that the visor latch is very stiff. I'm afraid it might break, however, it seems to be getting easier with time
The only positive feedback I can give is that this helmet fits great and has a very conventient to access sunshade.
The helmet's build quality is pretty cheap and has started to show after only riding ~500 miles. A wire of some sort has poked out from between the shell and the interior padding and the cloth fabric that is between the padding and my melon has started to stretch and cause the helmet to slide when pulling down the chin bar.
Also important to know is that the visor is pretty difficult to open when riding and the protrusion to open it is offset to the left causing the visor to twist. The last complaint I can add is that the wind noise is much higher than any other modular helmet I've used.
CONS: Loud, Cheap build quality
BEST USES: Getting Shot Out Of, A Circus Cannon
Also appreciated how much space there was on the sides for adding in a bluetooth/speakers unit. Padding is easy to remove and put back together.
I've found the sun visor and flip-up easy to operate with one hand, and haven't had any malfunctions after 2 months of daily use.
Con: VERY LOUD. You can see the sizable gaps around the hinge that lets air through. I wear earplugs most of the time anyway, but they're practically a requirement if you're above 35mph.
If they were able to make it quieter, this would be a great helmet. I'm still overall happy with it.
PROS: Comfortable, Light
BEST USES: Commuting, Keeping Skull Intact
PROS: good fit, Lightweight, Comfortable, Huge Sunshade
CONS: Wind Noise
BEST USES: Commuting, Street riding
PROS: Comfortable And Quiet
CONS: Visor Operation
It is a bit noisy, so I used ear plugs. It's actually quieter with the visor open than closed. With my windshield to nose level and visor open the helmet was the quietest. I did have to do a little modification on the Styrofoam liner to accommodate warring sun glasses. The flip down sun shades are a bit flimsy and flutter in the wind at speed.
I would recommend it as long as expectation are modest.
