If you are after warmth without bulk, this liner is for you. I tested it on a 27 degree ride. I had on a long sleeve tech t-shirt and long sleeve polo under it and only my jacket shell over it. No fleece or insulated layer. Setting the controller on low wasn't quite enough. Medium did the trick. This isn't like your old electrun blanket. It has paper thin heat panels. It's hard to find/feel any wires. Even heat. I think the controller is a must. Uncontrolled is probably too hot. If using with the Hotwired gloves hooked to the sleeves, the glove heat is totally independent of the jacket. No cons.

PROS: Comfortable, Light, Thin

Solid jacket.Worth it's weight in gold.
I'm a year round rider and if the roads aren't icy, I ride. That means even if it's 10 degrees I'll be out an about.

This jacket is comparable to First Gear's now discontinued product line. However, there are a few differences. Number 1, this jacket doesn't have the same amount of heating elements as the First Gear jackets did. From my experience that doesn't affect the heating and I feel warm all over with no cold spots.

The good news is that First Gear's "Heattroller" was a bulky, confusing, and inconvenient device that was prone to breakage. This product offers a fantastic controller that's digital, with plugs on the jacket that are much better in design than First Gear's offering. Additionally there is not a lot of excess wiring on this jacket which is MUCH appreciated as it reduces the chance of accidentally unplugging your gear while riding.

Overall, while this product seems expensive on the surface, it's ABSOLUTELY worth it to get an extra season or two of riding per year. I have taken this jacket over the Sierra Nevada mountains at 30 degrees and 65 MPH and I was absolutely warm. It literally felt like a nice warm summer day inside of my gear. I found myself repeatedly pulling down my Freezeout mask and leaning into the wind just to confirm it was actually freezing out, as I simply COULD NOT tell.

Buy this jacket and the gloves. For pants, First Gear makes some nice snow pants that work very well at low temps. After some experimentation you'll find a gear combination that works for you. The right combination should give you ABSOLUTE comfort in the lowest of temps with ZERO air leaks.

PROS: Adjustable, Hot

CONS: Skimped On The Elements

This Gear Works!
Bought the Hotwire Heated Jacket and Glove Liners after being tired and cold of commuting 120 miles each way in mid-40 degree winter weather in So Cal. I've tried both the FreezeOut jacket liner and glove liners and was still cold as the wind would cut right through them. My jacket consist of the Alpinestars WP T-Jaws and it's full liner along with the Cortech Scarab Winter gloves. The heated gear definitely made a difference in providing the warmth and comfort during my commute. So far, I've only had to use the MED setting to stay comfortable. Both the jacket and gloves are worth the purchase especially with the controller now included. Side Note: The jacket will run with 83 watts and glove liner at 23 watts. Make sure your bike's electrical capacity can handle the additional 105 watts.

Almost perfect
This is a must buy. I wish I hasn't waited so long. I've been wearing it for 2 months on colder days with no complaints. This morning it was 20 degrees for my hit ride to work. I wouldn't have survived without my heated jacket, pant and gloves. No longer need to wear tons of layers. My only wish would be better wind protection. I want cold this morning but definitely could feel the wind coming in the zippers and seams. A layer of thin gortex over might cure this.

Awesome product
I purchased the heated jacket liner and heated glove liners with some hesitation. But the first time I used them it was 43 degrees. I actually had to turn it down from Medium to Low. The second time I used the liners it was 36 degrees and raining. Even at 60 MPH and getting pelted by rain, I was toasty warm with the setting on Medium. I just wish I had purchased heated riding gear years ago!

PROS: Works Great

CONS: none

Tired of cold mronings!
This is my first heated jacket liner. I own a heated vest which I really like but recently purchased W&S heated gloves and I didn't like running the wires under my outer jacket. It was kind of a pain to have to keep routing the heated glove cables the thru each sleeve every time I put on my jacket. This liner allowed me to connect the gloves directly to the jacket liner.

I've been riding about a 40 min daily morning commute for a couple of weeks at speeds of 35 MPH to 60 MPH with occasional stops for traffic lights. Temps have been mid 20's f mostly with a couple of days in low 30's. It's cold enough to make my eyes tear up if I push 75 or 80 MPH (I have a cheap full face helmet...no good wind protection). On top, I wear a thermal long sleeve, the heated jacket liner, and heavy duty ballistic nylon (but unlined) MC jacket. I wear Freeze Out thermal bottoms and jeans with wool socks and boots on bottom.

Hands and arms/chest are completely warm and it feels like I could ride all day like this without having to stop and thaw. The temp setting has been on MAX. The controller might be useful if outside temps were maybe in the high 40's or 50's. I don't think it is really needed but mine was free with the purchase of the jacket liner. I also have a heated vest and I don't use the controller for that either. For me, I either need it on and warm as possible or I'll just ride with it off as the liner provides some warmth even when off.

No hot spots anywhere that I can feel. I haven't had a chance to try it out in rain yet, but I usually avoid rain if I can. I wish it had just a little more snugness next to my body like my vest does. My vest is only 2/3 the watt use and feels just as warm. But, my arms are also warm now and my gloves do connect much easier without all that cable routing fiasco.

All in all, it is excellent gear. I'm happy with quality and the price...wish I would have done this years ago.

PROS: Ribbed Knit Cuffs, Connects To Gloves, Sleeves long enough, Cant Feel Wiring, Micro-fleece Lined Collar

Best money ever spent
I'm a year round rider and was tired of freezing. While this set is pricy 300$ when you include the gloves it is worth every stinking penny. I've used the set for a month now with zero issues. My only concern is product longevity I hope I get a few winters out of it.

PROS: Versitile, Warm, Controlable, Light Weight

CONS: Pricy but worth it

Shouldn't have waited so long
First ride with my Sedici heated jacket liner and gloves yesterday - 39 degrees, interstate highway speeds (75-80 mph) for about an hour and a half, and I was warm! No more numb fingers, shivering, etc. As others have mentioned, I had to turn the temp down from medium to low after a while because it was too warm. You still feel some chill around your face and any exposed skin, but what a huge difference. I should have bought this stuff years ago!

Wish I would have had this sooner!
I wear this over a sweatshirt, and under my normal armored jacket and a winter jacket that covers my neck and waistline. It makes riding in the 20's a pleasant experience, full power is really hot, you will want a troller. it would be nice to have a separate troller hooked up for my gloves that I could set higher (without routing a y splitter... Bought this so I wouldn't have to do that anymore). I've done quite a few rides in cold temperatures where I had just enough gear to keep riding. This is going to make those early mornings/cold days a very different experience, and already did today!

PROS: Warm, Comfortable, Not bulky

Excellent for the price and warranty
I've research quite a few of the other brands and the thing that ultimately made me settle on this jacket liner is the lifetime warranty. Something I consistently read with all brands, regardless of price, is how heating panels will go out eventually. This liner is the only brand I found that comes with a lifetime warranty where if a panel dies it will be replaced. Everything else carries around a 1 year warranty. The price is hard to beat as well. I was able to pick this up with a free single controller and 20% off which is something Cycle Gear does fairly often.

As for the jacket it works. Heating is nice and I've only gone as high as medium heat in 30ish degree riding. My commute is roughly ~20 miles each way between traffic and highway speeds and I have been comfortable. I knocked one star off because the waist could use some elastic to keep it closer to the body.
