Advance barrier technology seals out cold air and wind
Brushed poly interior wicks moisture and feels great against skin
Stretch and recovery for a comfortable fit without binding
When riding in the cold, I actually pull this up to cover my chin/mouth and it works extremely well. Don't limit this to riding for it is very useful when doing anything outside from shoveling to ice fishing when the mercury drops.
PROS: Warm, Windproof
BEST USES: When it is cold, Riding in coolcold temps
Had to break this out this morning since it was in the 40's. Took other Riders advice and pulled it over my nose and mouth in side my modular helmet. Stayed in place, kept my face and neck warm on the ride to work at speeds up to 60 mph. Very comfortable.
I picked this up really on a whim. It was a little cool out and I figured I would give it a try. I really like it. You can actually wear it two ways, the intended way and upside down. If you wear it the intended way it does an excellent job of keeping the wind off your neck. If you wear it upside down you can pull it over your nose and mouth and keep warm even with an open face or half helment. I have two in the bags for those cold mornings and nights.
I used this for one outing to ride the dirt bike. It was high 40's with a cold wind. It worked well but the elastic that goes around your neck is a little small, tight. I wear a 16 1/2 shirt to give you an idea of neck size. Not so uncomfortable I wouldn't wear it again but tight enough to be to make you wish it wasn't. I think this could be made more comfortable without sacrificing wind protection. I got it for half off and I am happy to have it in my arsenal of cold weather gear to extend the riding season. I also think this will cross over well into winter sports (skiing, snowmobiling, etc.)
PROS: Windproof, Warm
CONS: Elastic opening is small
BEST USES: Skiing, Cold weather hiking, Riding offroad, Snowmobiling, Riding street
This works well with the long-sleeve shirt---although I'm not very flexible and it's hard to get it on over the collar of the latter. I like putting it on with that base layer and then putting shirt, etc., on over it. It's not quite big enough to stretch out over ones chin w/a full-face helmet, but it definitely cuts the breeze that you would get through the collar of your jacket.
This neck guard really is solid, and way better than Underarmour or anything similar for one reason - the wind blocking membrane. However, you need to use it correctly. Tuck the bottom bit into your shirt and jacket, and when you're putting your helmet on, make sure it goes up inside your helmet on the lower part of your jaw. This is what seals out wind, and no matter how cold it is out, your neck will be good to go.
PROS: Lightweight, Durable, Versatile, Easy To Use
