Bottom line, if you have a more compact, powerful build these will be great; if you are a taller person I would pass.
PROS: Warm, Work as advertised
CONS: Not the best quality, Don't fit quite right
Second, the seams are weak. The first time I pulled these on the waist band ripped. I didn't tug these on like I was playing tug 'o war with my feet, I pulled them up like I would a normal pair of thermals. Apparently I'm asking too much.
Bottom line, the idea was brilliant but the execution sucks. I would hope that Cycle Gear would field test these things before pushing them so hard. I have grown to trust Cycle Gear and their recommendations over the years but this time I think they dropped the ball. If they can get the manufacturer to fix these defects I think they will have a great product on their hands but in the meantime I wouldn't waste the time or money in trying these out.
CONS: Weak seams, Poor Fit
I wear 38 in casual jeans, 36 in dress slacks. When sized as such, I usually buy XL pants, or L if they are to be an under layer. I bought these in L, they didn't come close to fitting.
So, I exchanged for XL and the fit on these is still a little strange. First the lower legs are REALLY tight, I can barely pull them over my calves. Second, they are cut really low; think extreme plumbers crack when in a sportbike position. Combined with the low cut, the butt/crotch upper part of the pants are kind of...I guess 'frumpy' is the best word I can think of to describe it.
Despite all that, I think they will be adequate under a pair of leather pants on a chilly ride. Alas, only time will tell. However, I may suggest a friend to explore other options for a thermal, wind blocking long john.
LOW RIDERS , WON'T COVER YOUR CRACK ,
PROS: Warm, Lightweight, Easy To Use
PROS: Keeps me warm, Price is terrific, Large size is great fit
CONS: Replaced pants for sewing
BEST USES: Motorcycling, Outdoor sport -- archery
I take meticulous care of them, never putting them in the dryer, washing in an HE front loader. For the price, worth buying several sets.
I wear these under my slacks, even below 32F.
A definate "must have", for any REAL rider, that rides in any weather.
