Bilt Transition Pants

I have a pair of pricey Thor over the boot pants that I use for foul weather trail riding. Keeping cold water out of your boots is key in the cold, but I have yet to try these out in that situation.

I use these pants for a different purpose and since most MX/ trail riders are also general outdoorsman I thought I would share how awesome these are for fishing/ crabbing.

Jeans are awful at breaking wind, heavy mist and over the deck splashing while heading out to sea or coming in. Grunden's do this job well, but tend to be too hot once the sun comes out and you are trolling around. I am not sure why it isn't mentioned in the description, but my experience has been that these are quite water proof and fairly wind proof as well. I've even held them under a running faucet and had nothing seep in.

This makes them awesome for keeping your legs warm and dry while pulling crab pots or heading in and out in the cold/ wind. What is even more awesome is that you can simply zip off the lower legs, pull them right over typical boots, put the loose legs in the zip pockets and have instant shorts when it is hot. Simply zip back up to head in. You can see how this would be awesoem on long rides where the morning or shadybsingle track are freezing, but then the unshaded mid day gets hot and sweaty.

I got mine a waist size up and the Velcro at the waist allows me to trim down to my normal waist size if I am wearing just these and thin Under Armour type shorts or trim out if I want to wear them over jeans. I recommend a base layer since I imagine the inner mesh lining would chafe your thighs up w/ o one.

Not sure the shorts zipper would remain water proof in a bent knee position for lengthy seated riding in heavy rain, but I've never tried it and for stand up riding or fishing you can't beat these things. I am a sport guy, I'd doubt these would hold up to commercial standards, but they do have a 5 year warranty.

You can put them on over your gear. And expect to be resonably clean after removal, for the ride home.

I use these for off-road riding. These are the first over-the-boot pants I have found that are the right length (I'm 5'3"). For the off-season trail riding that we do, these really make a difference in how dry my feet stay. Over the boot pants keep my feet so much drier! I love it!

And no white fabric to get muddy -- even better.

I bought these pants for dualsport and street riding. I found them to be a little thinly built, but that is part of what makes them so comfortable. I would like to see the lower legs gusseted, so that when you pull the velcro tight around your boots, that the overlapping edges line up better. I liked the fit, the plain styling and the generous amount of pockets on these pants.

These are great pants for the price, I like how they fit. They are light weight and have plenty of pockets. The shorts feature is nice too. They breath very well. I only wash my gear in the washing machine and I never use a dryer, I only hang dry my gear but I did notice some fraying of the material but they still look and feel great. I have had this pair for 6 months and I have used them on 10-11 (rough) rides so in my opionion they have already paid for themselves and they have a lot more life in them.

I use these pants for off-road adventures on my ATV. During hot weather you can zip off the legs for cooler comfort on long dusty trails. The pockets are big and designed to keep items secure while you are traversing rough terrain. Great product and very high quality.
