This is my second boot of this style from Bilt and the second time that I've found myself admiring an otherwise great design only to have to confront a nettlesome flaw. The first time you put on any piece of leather gear things ought to be just a bit tight, so that the process of stretching yields the desired final form. All well and good, but when I pulled the zipper and it encountered the heightened measure of tension associated with the tight initial fit the teeth of the zipper separated under the strain, effectively putting an end to the component. Perhaps the problem is inherent in the use of zippers and that the choice of this particular manufacturer of zippers represents as good an option as any on the market. I don't know. But what I do know is not to worry. Because the warranty more than makes up for the defect. Once a pair of boots get worked in and the initial period of likely failure passed then the customer should be good to go and in the clear. If not, just take them back in exchange for a new pair. For that reason it's really not a problem worthy of great concern as the problem ultimately falls on the shoulder of the manufacturer. A great boot otherwise, the feel can be improved by way of adding replacing the stock insole with an athletic shoe insole (once they are stretched). And likewise the very thin rubber soles can be appended with glued on soles from Ebay, thereby making them more durableas walking shoes. Just be sure to buff up the contacting surfaces with fine grade sand paper prior to applying Shoe-Goo or other such cements. Again, a great buy despite the zipper problem.
I haven't been able to wear these boots for very long yet, but I really like them so far. I normally wear a size 11 shoe, but a 12 seemed to fit better in these. They seem to be well constructed and very comfortable.
This is my first pair of boots and I would recommend them for any new rider. Not super comfy but decent. I like the air vents and hight which give good heat protection.Oh one issue is that the metal protection on the side is mounted with a screw, they were very loose so I tightened both and now they squeak when walking! For the price it's a decent buy.
Bought these a couple weeks ago; not a bad boot. The low profile toe allows me to get under the shifter without issue. Pretty comfortable and easy to slip on and off. Nice airflow and style. My only problem is that only after a few rides, the metal skid plates fell off. Now I have to see if they are replaceable. If you buy these make sure to tighten the screws.
