The Pro Shade System from Arai is an ingenious solution to a problem few riders know about. Internal sun visors (according to Arai) create a weak point in helmets that cause them to fail certain safety tests. That's why you never see them on Arai helmets. Luckily Arai figured out how to get around this with the Pro Shade System for VAS-V helmets. An external sun visor that sits atop of the face shield provides protection from the sun, allowing Arai to continue offering some of the highest quality and most protective helmets in existence. We have to admit, they look a little funny-- but they work surprisingly well.
