Operation:

• Zip up vest and close magnetic flap
• Integrated LED display indicates operational status
• To activate: VELCRO® brand closure at the top of the zipper contains a sensor that arms automatically when closed

Washing Care:

• Do not submerge in water
• Spot clean with a microfiber cloth
• Use cold or room temperature water, add mild detergent (ex. Woolite), submerge microfiber cloth, squeeze out excess water, proceed to spot clean the following areas:
  • Left and right inner liner
  • Neck collar
  • Back area
• Avoid the front clasp sensor and ACU on the back where the electrical ports are
• Hang dry in ventilated area, away from sunlight
• Anti-microbial athletic cleaners are an alternative option

The Tech-Air 5 Airbag System is a self-contained airbag vest slim enough to be worn under virtually any jacket. It offers comprehensive upper body protection - covering the rider's shoulders, chest, ribs and full back. 

The Tech-Air 5 is designed for race and street use, so you'll be protected on and off the track.

Unparalleled Technology

The Tech-Air 5 utilizes six integrated sensors (3 gyroscopes and 3 accelerometers). These are combined with an algorithm developed closely with MotoGP race data and data from over 2,000 lab-simulated crash scenarios to determine when and how the system deploys. 

The Tech-Air 5 reduces impact forces by up to 93% compared to passive protection methods. The airbag has a maximum inflation time of up to 40ms (or less, depending on vest size). Inflation time is rapid enough to fully inflate the air chambers before impact. The vest also protects stopped riders in the event of a rear-end collision.

Rider Friendly Features

The Tech-Air 5 boasts 30 hours of riding time on a single charge. An LED display conveniently shows the system status directly on the garment. Alpinestars includes a micro USB charger for quick recharging. 

The Tech-Air App pairs via Bluetooth to the vest. The app displays the vest’s operational status, remaining battery life and provides a detailed analysis of your ride. Over-the-air firmware updates are also handled through the app.
