The 6D ATR-2 is the most advanced off-road helmet ever created. Engineering and materials evolved directly from 6D's collaboration with the NFL and the Head Health Challenge III competition  - a four-year study that concluded in 2017.

Effectively a helmet within a helmet, the inner expanded polystyrene (EPS) structure of the ATR-2 has its own in-molded PVC shell that provides strength, integrity and the ability to rotate. This inner liner is secured to the helmet's out layers via 6D's Omni-Directional System using break-away elastomeric dampers. This ability to rotate not only allows the helmet to absorb angular acceleration forces but also allows the helmet to be repaired by 6D after an impact. Unlike other helmets, 6D's industry leading innovations make the ATR-2 the most impact compliant lid on the market.
