If you're reading Common Tread, you probably already ride a motorcycle. Maybe have been for some time now. But you may know people who are motorcycle curious, whether it's a partner, a friend, or a random stranger who approached you at a gas station. How can they find out if motorcycling is right for them without plunging in and buying a bike and gear?
Ride With Us is the answer.
For the second year running, the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) will partner with the Comoto Family of Brands (RevZilla, Cycle Gear, J&P Cycles, and REVER) on Ride With Us, a nationwide initiative that aims to put aspiring riders in the saddle for the first time.
"We continue to be very excited about our partnership with MIC and MSF in support of Ride With Us and the physical Ride Day events,” said Chief Marketing Officer of Comoto and President of RevZilla and J&P Cycles, Steve Bontempo. “We are dedicated to growing ridership and introducing motorcycling in this simple, fun environment to the 'curious' has proven to be a great way to do it."
Hosted at MSF RIDE Day events, the program’s Moto Intro courses offer non-riders (must be 16 years of age or older) hands-on riding experience. Best of all, it’s done in the safety of an MSF-certified range. The bikes, riding gear, and coaching are all provided, and each class lasts just 30 minutes.
Beyond the riding sessions, participants can also access guides for obtaining a motorcycle license, MSF educational resources, and a six-part video series covering riding fundamentals.
This year’s first RIDE Day is scheduled for this weekend at Georgia's Lawrenceville Cycle Gear. Similar events will take place at Cycle Gear locations in Colorado and Michigan later this spring. RevZilla will also host Ride With Us RIDE Day Experiences at the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals in North Carolina, and the Laguna Seca MotoAmerica round in California.
