Welcome to this week's News Cycles, Common Tread’s roundup of what’s happening on our servers and everywhere else. Every Friday, look for a collection of news, stories, and all things moto from around the web. This week: the Erzbergrodeo, musical chairs, and nutty IOMTT onboard video.
Erzbergrodeo Results
Graham Jarvis (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) took first place at the 2018 Erzbergrodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble, followed by Jonny Walker and Manuel Lettenbichler. If you don't follow this grueling race, take a few minutes and watch.
Duty Motorcycles Throughout History
Panhead Jim gives a history of Harley’s military and law enforcement history in this in-depth piece for American Iron.

Musical chairs in MotoGP
Pedrosa and Honda break ties, HRC picks up Lorenzo, Petrucci’s on a Duc factory bike, and rookie Syahrin gets another year with Tech3. What of Pedrosa, Iannone, and Miller? More to come in MotoGP's silly season.
A surprisingly neutral explanation of Harley’s financial situation
Harley's taken some heavy flak lately for taking its tax cut, closing a factory, and rewarding shareholders. The Motley Fool offers a balanced counterpoint to HD's critics, and makes a case for the business sense that might lie behind these decisions.
Riding the Kibo K150, a motorcycle built in and for Africa
Jake Bright travels to Nairobi to test the Kibo K150, a Kenyan motorcycle for Kenyans. Check out those combination passenger floorboards/mini luggage racks. Hey, Kibo, stuff a larger engine in there and send some over!
IOMTT: 134 mph average speed record falls
During Saturday's RST Superbike TT race, veteran racer Dean Harrison lapped the course with an incredible average speed of 134.432mph. That's the first time in TT history that anyone's broken the 134 mph average barrier, and "a new absolute lap record." Wanna see what that's like? Onboard video below.
MV Agusta returns to GP racing after many, many years
It's been 42 years since the Count's badge fielded a GP team. After supporting such legends as Agostini, Surtees, Hailwood, and Read, that's a shame. MV Agusta's back with their eyes on Moto2, and their race prototype is almost ready for its debut in July.
That's all for this race-heavy week. If you've got comments, feedback, or moto news you'd like to share, shoot an email to commontread@revzilla.com. Check back for more News Cycles every Friday.
