In episode one of season seven, the Highside/Lowside topic was interesting new motorcycles of 2023 and the Kawasaki ZX-4RR, a little four-cylinder screamer of a sport bike with high quality components, was the most obvious example. Now, for episode three, Spurgeon and Zack take a closer look at this intriguing machine.
Their guest for this discussion is Abhi Eswarappa, who is not only a particular fan of small bikes but also is a guy who sets a new standard for defining "motorcycle enthusiast." He is the founder of the website Bike-urious and co-founder of the online auction site Iconic Motorbikes Auctions, which specializes in rare, desirable, or collectible motorcycles. He's also the sort of guy who rides all the time (no car) and who rode from Los Angeles to the end of the Earth in Prudhoe Bay in Alaska — with his girlfriend as pillion for the whole trip.
The title may be "ZX-4RR: Drool-worthy or Fool-worthy?", but the discussion goes beyond the ZX-4RR itself to talk about other small-displacement sport bikes from the past, and Abhi draws on his wide knowledge of interesting and oddball bikes. After years of running websites that focus on motorcycles up for sale, he's amassed quite a lot of that information. Check out the disussion in episode three as Highside/Lowside season seven shifts into the next gear.
