Michelin Pilot Road 3 Tires

The Michelin Pilot Road 3 Tire is the evolution of the award winning Pilot Road 2. With the Michelin Pilot Road 3 Tire you are getting the best of both worlds. It combines a soft rubber compound on the shoulders with a wear-resistant high-mileage compound down the middle. Michelin gives you a true dual-compound sport-touring radial tire.

Revolutionary X-Sipes technology maximizes wet traction

  • Michelin’s newest technology delivers all-weather performance without compromising tread life or handling
  • Patented innovation resulting from years of research and development
  • Sipes increase the tread's drainage capacity
  • Sipes generate pressure at the edges of the sipe blade, which helps to break through water film

Two compound technology combines tread life and cornering grip

  • 2CT incorporated into all tire sizes, front and rear
  • Wider soft-compound shoulders on the front tire, compared to its predecessor

High performance and environmentally sound

  • 100% non-aromatic-oil rubber compound

Note: Sizes denoted by "B" are designed specifically for loaded sport touring bikes, or for riding two-up.

Best tire I have used so far.
I have used a LOT of different tries on my bike in the last 80 thousand miles as I ride every day and I don't drive a car to work. My daily trip is about 100 miles across a valley over a 1600 foot pass into another climate zone so I see lots of weather.
The PR3 tires are perfect for this. I used to think the PR2 tires were the final answer but the PR3s are just a pure joy. A little noise from the front like the original Pilot Roads but not too much. Rain? What rain? The grip is outstanding! I can rail in the twisties and burn up the road on the flat freeway. Two up with loaded bags is just fine as well. I can't say enough!

PROS: Great grip in the wet, Tracks well, Great grip in the dry, Even better than the PR2, Easy to change lines, Light steering, Good mileage

CONS: Just a little noise

BEST USES: Touring, Daily Use

These are good tires
I commute 35 miles a day on my Concours 14. Pretty much everything, stop & go, freeway speeds, sweepers, tight corners and lots of traffic. I replaced Bridgestone BT023 with the Pilot 3's. Currently have 23,000 on the bike and 1500 on the Pilots. They felt solid and sticky right off the bat. Very quite with good turn in and grip. Hope the mileage is good also, got 10k on the rear and 16K on front with the BT's.

PROS: Versatile, Good Cornering, Smooth And Grippy, Good Ride

Grab the road by the tender bits
This tire provides a very natural ride. My Concours14 feels like an extension of my body on PR3's. I ride year round in all sorts of weather and the PR3's have maintained solid contact through heat cold wet and wind. The combo of my C14 and PR3's provides for comfortable commuting and confidence when carving up all the amazing Northern California motorcycle heaven roads.

PROS: Durable, Versatile, Good Ride, Good Cornering

Great tire Good price
Wore-out my rear tire 1/2 way into a 2,000 mile trip in the Califronia Central Coast. Was heading to the Sequoias and needed a new tire on Sunday. Cycle Gear was open, had the tire, and mounted & balanced the tire within an hour. They saved my trip!
