Our team has brought together a smart design leveraging knowledge from AltRider's long list of existing skid plates as well as addressing the challenges the XR presents in terms of its frame and low clearance. AltRider has added new and innovative features to bring forth their best skid plate yet.

Constructed of 3.175mm (1/8”) lightweight aluminum, it provides the most coverage on the market without adding excessive weight to your bike. The slightly tapered and rib-cage-like design protects the engine vitals without interfering with a rider’s mobility or controls. Full coverage from front to back means the bike is protected against any debris kicked up by the front tire.

Whereas a solid skid plate would bottle in heat, the AltRider Skid Plate has strategically placed cut-outs to allow maximum air flow and heat dissipation without compromising protection.

Modular powder-coated steel mounting brackets are utilized to connect the skid plate as well as AltRider crash bars, to create one solid protection package. A cross tube connects the brackets which provides unparalleled strength and is the backbone to creating such a unique and complete system. This design feature was necessary due to the low clearance and aluminum frame on the XR and the AltRider system is the only one on the market to utilize this.
