Started Off Great, Lasted About a Month's Worth of Riding...
I really thought I found a good casual riding, walk around, ride-to-work type of boot.

They seemed to fill the niche where I would have good protection, light weight and were flexible enough for walking around at work or running errands without clomping around in hard racing boots or carrying a second pair of shoes to work. And... they worked well enough in that regard for about a month of regular use.

It became apparent that the single-stitching used for the nylon eyelets were giving way where the shoe/boot normally flexes as you walk (see my attached photo).

If the stitching were not so poor and compromising the integrity of the boot I would have given this product four stars (minus one star for the velcro strap that likes to grab the laces instead of using a buckle or cinch like the Icon boots). Because of this it really calls into question whether they would do anything to protect you when you really need them to.

I have replaced these with a pair of Icon 1000 Truant boots which are about twice the price, but have performed much better than these and are more durable.

I would not recommend buying these if you are serious about your safety while riding.

Great Shoes
These are great shoes. I like how they look like a regular shoe but offer great protection and grip on a bike. They were very stiff when I first put them on, so I wore them shopping with the kids (took the car) and after a couple of hours they were great. I might get an insole for a bit more padding but they are well worth the price. I DO recommend to my friends!

Super comfy shoes
These shoes are pretty cool. They have a nice rubber top for shifting and it is very well padded inside. They look sweet and are perfect for walking around in. No real complaints. I only wishes they would make a hightop version of it to cover a little more of my ankle.

is this a man or womans boot? Matters in terms of sizing.

BEST ANSWER: This is a mans boot. I bought mine last year and they are very comfortable. They are also great for walking around once you get to your destination so you don't have to change to a walking shoe.
