saved my life.
this is a great helmet for the price. i recently downed my bike and didnt even know i hit my head until i got home and looked at it. it is comfortable and fairly quiet. its the best helmet i have found in the under 200 dollar price range. after my crash i obviously had to replace my helmet and i got a shoei and well the shoei is way better helmet...but its also almost 4x the price. if you need a helmet i would suggest to anyone a shoei if you absolutely cant afford it get this helmet.

Good helmet
This helmet saved my life today. I wrecked I am fine was able to walk away from the accident. When I got home I looked at the helmet and I hit the back hard and didn't feel it. I would recommend it to anyone. It's a great price and it got the job done. The spoiler got almost torn off and has abrasion marks but I literally didn't think I hit my head at all til I looked at it.

It's OK so far, save for the face shield
I like how light this helmet is and it is well balanced, the inner sun shield fits over my glasses well. However, the main wind screen has an easily fixed problem. The "anti-fog coating is more of a hinder than a help. This screen fogged early and easily, do to poor ventilation across it. Also, after wiping it a few times with my gloved finger it developed scratches. I tried to buff out the scratches with the same product I used on my Scorpion visor and it micro-scratched the inner coating making it almost impossible to see thru. Riding into the sun, I had to open the main and rely on the inner shield and my glasses for eye protection. The fix; Cycle Gear graciously gave me a new screen, because I wasn't satisfied with the performance of the old one, so I experimented with the old screen. I used a soapy kitchen sponge with a soft scotch-brite pad on one side (Not a coarse grain pad) and some elbow grease. It takes about 30 minutes of scrubbing on the inside of the shield and you will see the coating come off. Bingo bango, a clean, scratch free screen. I took another chance and put Rain X, on both sides of the face shield and it did not haze or fog the plastic. But it did do what Rain X does, and that is wick the rain away quickly. I LOVE this stuff!!
Cycle Gear's attitude of "beginner grade" is a bad attitude. If anybody needs the best gear out there, it's a beginner.
Good luck and Rubber down,

Seven Year's, it won't give up
OK I bought this helmet back in 2007, and according to the manufacture date, it is time to replace it. It worked very well for me. Almost 7 years in the harsh South Florida elements, and I still enjoy wearing it.
I wore this helmet through the hardest rainstorm, short of a tropical storm, imaginable. The result was awesome visibility, ventilation, and totally dry as well. During the hottest 90 degree Summer days in Miami, I felt a lot cooler with the helmet on! Several long rides to Orlando and Tampa during the winter months, gave me a chance to test the helmet down to 43 degrees, (add wind chill factor at 80 mph) Plenty warm, with a skull cap, and the air vents closed, the face shield seals nicely, no leaks. The cheek and chin pads are removable for cleaning, and a washable helmet liner keeps it clean.
I am shopping around for a new Vendetta, but I'm keeping this one for a back up, or passenger use.
Although some say it is noisy, I found it possible to have a conversation with another rider, with the helmet on. Also, I hear every minor change in the sounds of my motor, tires, and other cars/trucks. I like it a little noisy.

I recommend this price range for those of us keeping risk at a minimum, obeying traffic laws, and staying safe. If you plan to take excessive risk, (racing etc.) spend more $.

Love Love Love this one!
I don't do heat well, so I needed a helmet with excellent ventilation. This one has been a great choice. The front vents are also closeable, so if it's chilly, I'm not stuck with extra breeze. I have a very small head, so sizing was important, and this fits perfectly. A tad noisy, but otherwise nearly perfect.

Pretty good
Maybe 3.5 stars. Good all around helmet. A bit prone to fogging. The spray they have in the store works fairly well with it, but quits working after a while. I ended up getting one of the "stick on" type "fake" pinlock things. That works great. It's very comfortable, fits good and snug all around, no pressure points or voids. Mabye a bit on the heavy side. Other helmets feel more balanced. I have more of a long skinny head shape, so it's nice this fits well. The visor clicks closed nice and tight and seals well. No drafts or rain have snuck in. The clicks are very stiff so you have to give it a good shove, but nothing has broken or anything. Easy to get the visor off and on. The flip down shade is great, but maybe a bit dark except for full sun. It's cloudy here most of the time so I haven't had it in the summer sun yet. Ventilation seems so-so. I've only worn it in the cold so far and honestly can't really tell a difference when the vents are open or closed. Fogging doesn't seem to be affected much with chin vent open or closed. No whistles at any position, just the usual roar at speed. I wear earplugs and that makes it nice and quiet. Actually a light or medium earplug would be best (for me) to not be too quiet. I like it and will stick with it until I can justify paying for something higher end - with built-in pinlock.
