Icon Alliance Dark Helmet

Back in black, fade to black, none more black, you've heard them all. This time we've dropped the clichés and gone straight to jugular conviction - the Alliance Dark Helmet combines the most popular attributes of the award-winning ICON helmet line, for less. Matte black Rubatone finish, free Dark Smoke ProShield, removable Hydradry wicking liner, medium oval headform, World Standard certifications and ICON's innate reputation for pure awesome. The streets have demanded, and ICON has answered.

  • Injection molded polycarbonate shell for strength
  • Fully removable/washable Hydradry interior
  • Quick-change fog-free proshield with sideplates
  • Prolock shield locking system
  • Wind tunnel tested and refined
  • Molded twin channel supervent for increased cooling
  • Rear exhaust ports prevent heat buildup
  • Removable molded breath deflector reduces shield fogging
  • Chin venting system reduces shield fogging
  • All world standard, meets or exceeds the following: DOT FMVSS 218 (US), ECE 22-05 (EUROPE), SAI AS1698 (AUSTRALIA) and SG (JAPAN) safety and testing standards. Does not ship with SAI OR SG Certification stickers unless purchased from an authorized dealer in that country

Note: The Icon Alliance Dark Includes both Dark Smoke and Clear face shields. Also, the Alliance has a fairly narrow internal shape. It is best for people who need more forehead room but conversely it is less suitable for people who need more room in the ear and temple area.

Great Purchase!
This is an awesome helmet! Easy to clean, excellent quality. I had an XL but I cut all of my hair off which has dropped me to a M/L. You better believe I am buying another one. Some complain of the snug fit, I don't mind it so much. It's not uncomfortable...more like secure. I have not had the visor fog up, yet.

PROS: Fit, Air flow, Style, noise control

Excellent Value Helmet for Long Oval
If you have a long oval head shape, then you know the limited selection of brands which make long oval helmets. You're left spending well over $500 for an Arai Signet-Q or having headaches with just about any other helmet. Enter the Icon Alliance! I have owned both an Arai Signet Q and an Alliance. I ended up selling my Arai as the Icon was nearly as light and fit even better. I ride daily (10k miles a year) and the Icon has held up great. I am nearing the 3 year marker with mine and it is just starting to look fairly worn. I will likely purchase another one as I see no reason to spend a bunch of money on an Arai as long as the fitment is the same.

PROS: Quality, Excellent fit, Long Oval Fit

CONS: none

I love this helmet
I love this helmet its my first icon helmet and its the most comfortable helmet I have owned, it looks great and was a great price. The one I ordered was too small so I just took it in to cycle gear store by my house and they ordered me a new one, no hassel and I had my new one in a week.

Snug and comfortable! However the visor is a bit tricky to change out. Stylish too! Great safety ratings.

PROS: Snug, Beautiful Styling, Good air flow, Light Weight

CONS: Runs a little snug, Hard To Change Visor

Love this helmet
I have owned this helmet for a little better then a month now. I purchased it in store because some one had ordered it but never picked it up. It was definitely a plus trying the helmet on first because I had read that the ICON helmets fit tight. Mine is a large which fits very snug but has broken in well and never gives me a head ache even on this extended rides so I would consider it to be a perfect fit. Altgough if I could change one thing I would get thinner cheek pads (which I'm pretty sure you can order from Icon). The helmet has proven very stable at high speeds and air ducting flows better than any other helmet I've ever worn. I ride with the dark visor on all the time and can see perfectly fine both at night and in direct sunlight and also has the widest view of any helmet I've owned. With the metal pin, it is a little tough getting the visor open but it definitely keeps it in place for those speed runs! The Black finish is almost rubberized and wipes clean fairly easily and seems pretty durable so far. All in all I'm very happy with the helmet so far!

PROS: Very Comfortable, Great Air flow, Great optics

CONS: Tight Cheek Pads
