Bought this the other day and really love it, they didn't have XL so I got a large. Its snug being 5'11 200 lbs but its very flexible which is exactly what I wanted. Did I mention it's super warm under layer? Rode in 50 degree weather with just jeans and a textile jacket.
Great Product... but one problem didn't occur to me!!
I absolutely love this product. Prior to departing for Boston, I gassed up, had coffee, and commenced my ride. As normal, I waited until my second stop for a potty break which at this point was more of an emergency! It wasn't until then it hit me that I essentially had to completely undress which culminated in the proverbial "pee-pee dance" I've since learned to go at each stop so as to avoid such a "problem"! Still love the product!
I ride all year round from 100--35F. This base layer is good in the winter. I still use my heated gear over it. Has lasted me 9 months without any issues so far. I can wear just this layer, jacket, and pants around 25-degrees F out. Anything colder you will def want heated gear.
This is the second piece if this stuff I own. First bought the pants alone for cool Florida rides. Now living in Vermont and needed the one piece unit. Was 14 degrees today, went for a ride with this stuff and my leathers, was TOASTY ! ! !
PROS: 14 Degrees And Was Toasty, Wears like iron, Fits snug
I'm 6'1" 300 lbs and the 3XL fits...sorta. I cannot stand straight then touch my toes but I can reach my ankles. The suit is a bit too short along the spine and arms. I can squat and move around with no problems but it's just not 100% flexible in the spine area and the sleeves could be 1-3 inches longer. These issues are not noticeable while riding.
The only issue I have while riding are the thumb holes. The ends of the sleeves have little holes for your thumbs so the sleeves don't ride up. Well its a little uncomfortable. The fabric is thin so as to fit under gloves but this makes it a bit "sharp" also. It's far from a deal breaker but it'll take some getting used to.
I am a daily commuter. I use this product under my one piece riding suit on cold days that are not cold enough for heated gear. For me that is when temps are in the low 40s. This is a great option because it is more convenient than my heated gear (no wires!) and warmer than my other gear. It is more comfortable than the long johns and crew neck together, especially under the one piece riding suit. I can make pit stops without disrobing, but it is difficult. I do not use the stirrups or thumb loops, and I need tall socks if I don't want a gap around my calves. If I could change one thing I would wish for more sizing options; specifically lengths (eg: med-tall, med-short, med-regular, etc.)
