Dainese Zen EVO Jacket
The Dainese Zen EVO is a classic sport bike jacket with integrated elbow and shoulder armor. It is engineered to be extremely comfortable in the three quarter riding position thanks to pre-curved arms and elasticated paneling at the shoulder junction. This is a jacket that is ideal for cooler climates and temperature tolerance can be regulated with the zip-in full-sleeve thermal liner.
- Race grade leather ensures the highest degree of abrasion resistance
- Removable thermal liner
- Proprietary S1 bi-axial fabric shoulder blade panels for full range of movement
- Adjustable side straps
- Precision German-engineered Optilon zippers
- CE approved armor at shoulders and elbows
- Pocket for optional Dainese G1 or G2 back protector (sold separately)
Might be due to this item being clearance, all but this Black/Red/White were available in-store, and the store's sales person offered to order it for me; but pointed me to the website as being just as quick.
I don't like buying online without trying that exact product on, but they made me feel very comfortable about doing it. Satisfaction is guaranteed at Cyclegear and held the one I tried on in-store until I got this one delivered instead of the standard 2-day hold.
To me, that's great service! They could have sold me this great jacket in a color I wasn't entirely stoked about to move the product, but they didn't. They wanted me to be happy vise pushing floor inventory.

With the liner out, it ventilates better than any textile jacket I have tried and, half-zipped, was relatively comfortable in temps up to 90 degrees F. With the inner liner (which installs in less than a minute), this is still my warmest jacket. I have been on several long rides in temps down to 22 degrees F with just the liner and two t-shirts under the jacket.
The fit is slightly snug compared to most jackets but more forgiving than the Vanson Comet. Although the Comet (a FIRST CLASS piece of riding gear) has thicker leather, the Zen allows more freedom of movement, even with the CE armor in the elbows and shoulders.
I ride between nine and 10 thousand miles a year and this jacket has held up great with almost daily use, including commuting. No failures at any of the seems and no pilling on the liner cuffs.
The only knock I would have given this jacket is the excessive "branding" and logos it carries, but it looks like that has been greatly reduced in the newer models. Have been considering buying another Vanson for touring but will most likely get another Zen. Love this jacket.

Took it for a weekend ride and the ventilation worked really well.
Have been wearing it to work in +/- 40F temperatures and the liner keeps me warmer than I was with my mesh jacket, thermal liner, and 2 sweatshirts.
Jacket looks better in person than it does in pictures. Was going to get icon chapter 1000 jacket but instead bought this jacket and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

This is great without the liner for summer riding though even with the liner and long sleeves I wouldn't recommend this if its below freezing.
I'm an athletic/skinny build at 5'8" with 135lbs. I ordered 36/46 and it's a perfect fit all over with sleeves just a little tight at the forearms. I'm a gym rat so maybe that's just me.
Not sure what else to say, Dainese is one of the best, you're buying quality.
