Dainese Grip Boots

Uncompromising style matched with a high level of safety distinguishes the Dainese Grip shorty boot from the rest of the pack. Great short boot
I was looking for a boot I could commute in that had great ankle protection. I prefer boots with rigid and inflexible ankle braces like found on race boots. No commuter boot or short riding boot had this feature besides a few from Dainese. This is protective as my raceboots (Supertech) from the ankle down. It is somewhat difficult to get my foot in the boot since the tongue doesn't pull away from the boot very far. The speed laces need to be tucked in, which some velcro or an outside pocket for them would have been great. These are solid leather so they will not breathe very well but that is pretty minor. I wouldn't walk around in these all day since they are very stiff and the ankle does not flex but you could easily do regular trips in these. In terms of protection these half boots are the best on the market. No other half boot comes even close the support these provide (not even the Sidi $$ ones). If you need a shorter boot for whatever reason these are the only option and they are great. These are the same essentially as the Dainese Dyno shoes without the new CE label and $40 cheaper. Great buy. Sizing is in line with any other boot. I am a 47/48 in Alpinestar and have these in a 47.

Great boot
I got these as a replacement to another midtop boot that did not have nearly the protection that I had expected. The quality of this Dainese boot is markedly better than the other options out there and you can feel it the second you put these on. The fit and finish is stellar and the boot has a very clean and stylish look. The great thing is that you are not sacrificing protection for style and feel.

With all of that being said there is one minor complaint. Like another reviewer I too would like a little better access into the area of the laces and a better way to stow the speed laces. They are a little hard to get on and off but I would rather have that than a lower level of protection which other companies seem to have chosen.

Overall I find these boots very well made, comfortable, and stylish. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a new boot.

PROS: Comfort, Support, Style

CONS: Lacing design

BEST USES: long rides, Commuting

Love these boots
I wear a 10 1/2 and had to get these in a 12. So that means I had to send them back 3day before bike week. They are snug going on so I guess the won't fly off if I go down. They look freakin awesome and the the replacement toe guard is sweet.....probably until I price the replacements. For the size I ordered I didn't need a break in time, so I'm sure they will only get better once broke in. Check screws before going out. Mine were a little loose.

PROS: Protection, Comfortable, Stylish, price

CONS: Not true to size, Difficult putting on

BEST USES: Style, Protection

These are made for people with skinny feet. Is there an alternative for people with wide feet?
