No replacement pads/visors available
This helmet has a lot going for it. Good fit, Bluetooth capability, nice visor, cool built-in retractable sun visor, etc.

But Bilt doesn't even offer replacement pads. This means that the effective lifespan of this helmet is no longer than the lifespan of cheap foam pads. Because once they wear out, the helmet will not fit properly.

I also find it frustrating that Bilt doesn't seem to offer replacement visors. Neither the main clear visors, nor the smaller retractable sun visor. Again, once either of these become scratched or worn, the helmet becomes pretty much worthless.

So get your act together, Bilt. It shouldn't be very difficult to offer replacement consumable parts for the helmets you sell.

I love it
So far I love this helmet. Lightweight on the head. Despite visor, not too bad in the wind. Sometimes Bluetooth cuts out, but seems to come back after a "pause/play"
Another reviewer said there were not replacement faceshield, but I have just ordered on in a dark smoke.
I would like to see replacements for the drop down sunshield, and maybe some other color options, yellow or orange.
Otherwise, this has been a great replacement and a good value

PROS: Visor

Great Bang for the Buck
Fantastic value for a bluetooth helmet. Getting voice prompts helps me keep my eyes on the road. Music is faint with wind noise on the freeway, but the lid is quieter than my modular and seems decent for a sub $200 helmet.

The shade visor is good but doesn't go down low enough to not be distracting for me. No big deal.

My only grip is that the power off process is funky. Instructions say to press power and phone for get this, 0.2 seconds. Whaaat? Haha. More often than not, I can't time it right and the helmet doesn't power off making my commute home with a dead battery.

I'd buy this again though. Good value when I get it to turn off!

I've also recieved good help from the online chat support. Cycle Gear is customer service winner.

CONS: Buttons Can Be Vague

Great Helmet for everyday rider
Get a good working bluetooth setup and helmet under $200! Everyone I have talked to while using the helmet can barely tell I'm on my bike even when going interstate speeds!

Amazing Value
I bought it for a 1000-mile trip through the Sierras (60/40 on/off-road). It looks fantastic and it is very comfortable. The flip-down internal sun-visor is amazing and now I will never consider another helmet that doesn't have this feature. The same goes for the BlueTooth--loved it.

It's not 5 stars because it was a little louder than I would have liked and it twisted about in the wind easier than expected (especially when I turned my head to the side). I will caveat that this is my first "dual sport" helmet with a peak visor, so I'm not sure if this is a characteristic of all "dual sport" helmets, or just this one. Also, it fogged up easier than I would have liked.

Bottom Line: Really nice helmet for the price!

Pleasantly surprised
Use it for daily commuting. Bluetooth works as advertised. I got up to 70mph and audio was good. Phone calls were also good. Like the drop down sun shield, but wished it was a little more darker. Great field of vision vs my Icon. The only dislike is the fogging. Usually I crack my Icon to the first 'detent' or 'click', but the Techno doesn't have the levels of clicks. It's either full open or closed.

Can eyeglasses be worn with this helmet?
A shopper on Sep 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes You can wear glasses. It's just like any other helmet, but the mouth piece sticks out a little further out.
Can you remove the face shield?
Jacob T on Aug 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it's very easy to remove the clear shield by unscrewing the pivot bolts with a dime or screwdriver. It can be removed for cleaning very quickly and goes back together without much fuss. If you want to remove it and then use the helmet without it, just take the large aluminum washer and place it between the helmet and visor to fill the space where the shield was and tighten the bolts back down. The inner sun visor is a different story... I have yet to figure out how to get it out even to clean. But it retracts out of the way.

A shopper on Mar 9, 2017
