I was wearing these boots when a woman in a van pulled out of a side street in front of me. I had to lay down the bike, I went rolling down the street. If I had not had these boots on and my other protective gear my feet would have been shredded. As it was, only the plastic part on the shoe broke and a bit of scuffing on the shoe
This is a great boot. It fits just a tad large, so I get to use my thick socks. Accidentally got caught in the rain and water ran off like them like they were a duck. Boot can be warm in hot weather but feels great when its cool and cold weather. Boot feels like a high top sport sneaker and has plenty of grip in the sole. BILT's warranty applies to them just in case a seam comes loose. Quality is top notch and these boots replaced my TEKNIC Violator race boot, which the sole dried out and cracked. The price was great as I caught them on sale for $79.
PROS: Lightweight, Comfortable Fit, Good Traction, Durable, Stylish
These boots are light, comfortable, and look good, but the soles are way too thin! Mine wore through in less than one season of moderate use. Too bad, since the uppers still looked great, but I can't ride or walk around with holes in the sole.
If it were an option, I'd probably go 3 1/2 stars. The fit and finish are nice enough and the price (on sale) seemed fair. I haven't worn them for very long and don't abuse them in any way. That's why it was so disappointing when the rubber on the front/side (of one boot) broke and now just kind of loosely flops around. Kind of ridiculous if you knew how little wear they've been through to this point. Otherwise, they seem like a decent boot...just waiting for the other boot to follow suit.
These boots are a good value for the money. They are lightweight and comfortable if you replace the insole. My only two complaints would be that the tongue is designed poorly. There is a gate that runs full length which is fine on a boot. But it causes the tongue to never last flat so it bunches out no matter how tight the laces are. The second is the Velcro strap. It's useless because they don't put enough Velcro on it. So unless you have kanckles either cut it off or sew on more Velcro.
You can't beat it with a wooden bat for the prize. The boots are very well put to gather, they're very durable and stylish. Worth every cent. Would recommend them and would buy them again. You can't go wrong.
