Good for the money
I was looking for a leather jacket not to heavy and not too expensive.

The sales person showed me the BILT Spirit and it was pretty much in line to what I was looking for. The Price was unbeatable.

I must say that this review has two parts, I had to exchange the jacket for a new one almost a month after I bought it because one of the pocket zippers broke.

Jacket 1: Size was perfect, sleeves not very long, the lining in the sleeves is a mesh and made the gloves velcro to attach very easily. The armor was not removable at all. One of the exterior zippers broke and since this has 5 years warranty I exchange it for another one.

Jacket 2: Despite being the same size, the torso is a little tighter and the sleeves are about 2 inches longer. The sleeves lining has a velvet finish at the end and makes it more difficult for the velcro to attach to it. Armor in elbows and shoulders is removable but not the back pad which seems a little thicker.
This second jacket seems to incorporate improvements over the first one.

For both:
The leather is a little hard, so I believe it will require a few months of use to get soft and more flexible.

The ventilation is good, even under Florida's sun I didn't feel the heat while riding. At the traffic lights I melted though.

One good thing about it is the leather smell, it shows it is done with the real thing.

This jacket is good value for the money

PROS: Detachable lining, Ventilation, price, Armor

CONS: Leather a little too hard, Short Torso, Very long sleeves

Awesome Jacket at a Great Price
As a new rider I have had a lot of equipment to purchase and a finite budget. I went with my wife to CycleGear and tried on a bunch of stuff and this Spirit Jacket was a great fit, great price, and my wife thinks it looks "hot" on me so, hey, bonus points! It has good armor in the shoulders and elbows. Hope I never have to test the durability in a fall but just in case I feel confident in my choice.

PROS: Casual Wear, Abrasion Resistant, Comfortable, Stylish

Had it for two years now.
Had it for two years now. Have ridden with it in all sorts of weather. Layered under it in the cold. Used it comfortably in warm (not blisteringly hot) weather. Love it. Understated and cool. Have been accused of riding a cycle for the express use of getting to wear this jacket.

PROS: Comfortable, Stylish, Weather Resistant

Good Summer Jackey
Used it everyday on a cruiser bike. Loved that the neckline doesnt choke you or have a zipper against your skin. Breathable perferated pannels allow for decent air flow. Does loose some of it's color over a season in the sun. Looks a little more gray than black. Zipper is on the left side.

PROS: Comfortable, Neck Line Is Good, Breathable, Clean Lines

CONS: Some Fraying

Safety and Quality at a affordable price
Snug fit around the shoulders and arms as it should yet good flex. Heavy enough for very cold days yet sufficiently front and back perforated venting on hot days.I really like the extended armor in forearm to elbow area.Has room for my Icon chest/back vest.I like the liner has no sleeves so it vents very nicely when I wear a hoody on COLD weather(45')rides.The warranty,VERY NICE!

PROS: Extended Forearm Armor, Abrasion Resistant, Stylish, Weather Resistant, Comfortable, Well Insulated, Zippered Wrist Cuffs, Easily Removable Liner

BEST USES: Bad Weather, Long Rides, Safety, Warm Weather

Nice product
Purchased this jacket on sale for a 2,400 mile trip, and wore during the entire trip.

The jacket is comfortable, has good ventilation and offers good protection in the rain and against our Texas sized insects.

Only reason for not rating it 5 stars is the stitching began coming apart after a month of use.
However the Austin store swapped out the jacket with no hassle. Five stars for customer service to Cycle Gear.

Overall a good value for money, and mates perfectly with the Spirit leather pants.

Good Jacket for the money
Love the jacket, nice and ventilated which can be bad in the cold. But has enough room to put a hoodie or jacket under it for cold weather. The linner has a pocket for a smaller cell phone and a zipped pocket I use for my thermal face protector. Only problem I've had is the zipper broke and won't stay zipped after 2 months but thanks to the warranty im going to just replace it and get a new one

PROS: Comfortable, Stylish

CONS: Zipper Broke, Not For Cold Weater

BEST USES: Casual Wear, Long Rides

Big step up from denim
I used to wear a simple denim jacket when I first started riding. This jacket is more like a suit of armor. I feel well protected and stay warm on cool days. The sleeves seemed a bit long, but present no problem nor restriction when riding. Plenty of pockets for storing different items.

PROS: Well Insulated, Comfortable

CONS: Too Heavy
