Protected me
I just crashed my bike and these pants saved my legs. I was riding on a dark road when a dog ran in front of me. I hit my breaks and before I knew it I was sliding and tumbling in the road and gravel of the shoulder. I only got some rug burn on my left knee and shin, but no road rash. The Kevelar did its job. I was also wearing a Street & Steeal denim jacket I just bought which saved my upper body from road rash. These pants work! I bought them because they look nice dressed up and they have protection for riding. I wore them for 11 hours at work without discomfort and without anyone noticing. I was amazed at how these khakis did not stain when I was kneeling ionto a dirty floor. My other khakis stain if I look at dirt. I highly recommend these pants and I will buy a replacement pair. Please wear your gear; it saved my life.

Protection and wearable while not riding
These pants are my choice when taking the cycle to the train station then spending a few hours in choir rehearsal. They seem like a good dual-purpose item for reasonable protection while riding with reasonable style and comfort while doing something else.

I have no way to evaluate the protection, so I'm trusting Bilt's design and testing. I think that there are different test results for different styles of the Iron Worker pants, and it would be helpful to know those results.

No back zipper to connect to a jacket.

I have 4 different styles of Bilt pants, and I noticed pockets that appear to be designed for hip armor. I would like to see a catalog entry offering the hip armor.

Badass Chino's
Great looking and well made chino's with protection. I can wear to the office when I ride to work and look like slacks or dickeys.

Good commuter option
These pants are a great affordable option for those of us who want to commute into an office on a motorcycle. The pants are warm (Kevlar lining tends to do that), so it might not be the most comfortable option on a particularly hot day. Assuming it isn't blazing hot out, the pants work well on the bike and in the office. I live in Florida and can commute in them comfortably despite the heat.

My only real complaint is that the knee pads don't line up well for me and their position isn't adjustable. I had to remove the pads because they basically just sat on my thighs just above the knee rather than in the proper position in front of my knee. They lined up properly while standing, but when I was seated with knees bent the pads became worthless. If you're looking for slide protection in a pair of pants that you can wear all day at the office and you don't feel that you need functional knee pads, then these pants fit the bill. I'd rather have pants that will protect me in a slide than the slacks I would be wearing to work otherwise (even without knee pads), so at the price, these pants were good enough for my needs.

Very high waist and knee pads pockets are pretty high as well.

Not many non denim riding pants options on the market.

Are the sizes equal to normal pant size or slightly smaller or larger?

BEST ANSWER: For the most part they're consistent with normal pants sizing. I normally wear a 34 or 36 depending on the manufacturer. I ordered a 36 and they fit me fine.
