great jacket
I've had this jacket for a week or so now, and I've found that it's perfect for warmer climates in the winter time. I live in Phoenix(use my ride primarily as a city bike), and the temperature rarely gets below 40 degrees or so in the winter. I was a bit concerned at first that this jacket may be slightly too thin for good protection in cooler AZ winter temperatures, but I was proven wrong. The collar seals out wind completely, air doesn't penetrate the material or in the zipper area, and I've been quite comfortable riding in temps down into 40s. So far, it's been a very wise choice, and I don't hesitate to say that it's been one of the best motorcycle-specific gear purchases I've made to date. The only thing I can think to improve is maybe an adjustable cuff for those with smaller wrists to help keep the air out, and maybe another pocket or two. The micro-zippered breast pocket is perfect for a phone and wallet, but I would have included a second breast pocket on the other side. Although there are two places you could carry something internally, there are no dedicated internal pockets. A choice of colors would be great too; it's only available in black. I probably would have gone for olive green or gray if available. At [$], this hoodie is a bit pricey, but I think we all know that it's usually a pretty good idea to spend a bit more and buy something engineered for riding. Some other non motorcycle-specific items work fine, but I always seem to find myself smiling in my helmet when I'm out riding with well engineered gear because it does indeed make for a better ride. No floppy sleeves, no wind penetration, sealed collar, good on-the-bike fit. Fully recommended. [...]

Great Jacket
I recently bought this jacket for a lighter option to throw on and commute. Proves to be a great choice. Awesome wind protection. But no place to fit a CE rated Back Armor I purchased for my other Alpinestars jacket. Also the elbow pads are in the wrong place, a bit high.

PROS: Warm all around jacket

CONS: No place to fit Back CE

Decent Jacket, Not worth the price.
It seemed to work okay during a short sprinkle, down here in miami.

I was caught in heavy rain twice this month. Both times water seeps through around the shoulder and elbow areas.

PROS: Stylish, Comfortable

BEST USES: Light rain, Better-than-nothing

Poor Quality for Alpinestars
I bought this product last riding season/last summer and am currently on my second season with and are regretting buying it. When I first bought it I thought it was a really nice jacket but slowly kept finding flaws in the jacket. The first one was the elbow pads are not even close to being in the right area. They are more like forearm pads and would offer no protection in the event of an accident so I just removed them. The next one I found was it does not breathe AT ALL! There are not ventilation zippers or anything so it gets extremely hot in the jacket. The next issue isn't such a big deal but just a nuisance, the collar does not lay right so it always looks like your "popping" your collar on the jacket. The last and most recent issue with the jacket that I just found out a few days ago is the water resistant coating apparently wears off after one season. I got caught in the rain for the first time this season and when I got home, my entire upper body was soaked(I was only in the rain for 10-15 mins) It was rain resistant when I bought it, but not anymore. I'm very disappointed in Alpinestars for releasing such a sub-par product.

PROS: Stylish, Well Insulated

CONS: Not weather resistant, Doesn't Breathe, No ventilation, Poor Design
