Comments about TOUR MASTER Flex Textile Motorcycle Pants:

I've had these extremely versatile pants for over 2 years now. They're a true 4-season dualsport/adv garment. From FL summer heat and rains to Chicago winter snows, these pants can keep your lower body comfortable and protected from weather and road-rash, onroad or offroad. They fit well if you look at Tourmaster's chart before purchasing, and they have a bit of adjustment built in. They are NOT waterproof though, unless you regularly treat them with CampDry Heavy-Duty or similar. With treatment however, I rarely even need the rain liner to stay pretty dry. Only in heavy downpours is it required. I just zip on the outer panels, which is easy enough by myself. I rarely have to use the insulated liner in FL either. On trips, it comes in handy below 40F, but these seem pretty warm to me once sealed from wind, insulated liner or not. The mesh breathes great when you're moving, and only so-so when stopped...to be expected. On cool/warm-but-not-cold/hot days, I only partially zip the panels, so that I control the amount of venting. I swap the knee/shin pads for full guards when offroad, and these pants allow plenty of room for that. The Phoslite still reflects well after over 2 years too. I have yet to find another pair of pants as versatile, and I've been looking. I will buy another pair of Flex pants if they're still offered when these need replacement. As it is, I beat the tar out of these things from falling all over offroad, and these are still in one piece.

Comments about TOUR MASTER Flex Textile Motorcycle Pants:

Got these pants with the matching jacket over a month ago. It gets warm in Tampa and I wanted something that would give me something safe to wear and still be cool enough for the heat of summer. These pants meet that requirement. I ride to work in shorts and a t-shirt underneath the jacket and pants. It will get a little sweaty sitting still in traffic but once you get moving things cool off rapidly and stay cool until you have to stop again. I bought pants that were probably at least 1 size too big (cycle gear did not have my exact size in stock), but, when riding the length is actually just about perfect, and the waist adjustment takes up the slack. You can move the armor around on the inside so that it syncs up with your knees. I could probably use them as overpants but have not tried yet. If you are caught in the rain and did not plan for it by putting in the rain liner, you might as well stay in the rain. It will take you too long to strip off the pants and put in the liner. Unlike the jacket, the rain liner is on the inside... Pockets in the front are easily accessible with gloves.

Comments about TOUR MASTER Flex Textile Motorcycle Pants:

This is a very nice pant system. Considering the price almost perfect.

There are actually 4 different layers to this pant system. The innermost layer is the removable quilted liner and it is very warm. Using this layer I rode in freezing temperatures with a heated vest and my legs were fine- no cold air at all.

Next layer is the rain layer. I only used this once in a heavy downpour and it leaked in the crotch after about an hour. Not bad considering my tank bag concentrates water there.

Third layer is the mesh pants themselves. Wearing just this layer results in massive amounts of air on your legs. I rode in Death Valley in July (120deg) with these pants and survived. I could pour cold water right on my legs through the mesh. And this is the layer with the knee and hip armor. Knee armor is adjustable.

The last layer is two panels that zip on the mesh layer. These panels cover the mesh areas on the pants. These panels zip off easily while wearing the pants but putting them back on requires a close friend or you have to take the pants off. The panels are kinda confusing to put back on.

So the pants are really flexible and can go from extreme cold to extreme heat with rain thrown in.

    Not perfect though....
If see rain ahead then you will have to stop and remove the pants to put the rain layer in. That means sudden downpours are trouble. I found it best to ditch the interior rain layer and carry lightweight rainpants that fit OVER the flex pants.
