Comments about MICHELIN Anakee 2 Adventure Touring Motorcycle Tires:
Bought these tires to replace the Metzeler Tourance EXP tires that came stock on my 2009 BMW R1200GS. Michelins review of the Anakee 2 said it provided the same traction as the Tourances with a 10% increase in tire life. The Tourance EXP's lasted me for 11,000 miles before the back tire got to squared up to ride anymore and the tires were scuffed from one side wall to the other (No chicken strips). I've had the Anakee 2's for 6,000 miles now and the rear tire is just starting to square up a bit but the tires have got ½" chicken strips on both sides. These tires have had a greasy feel to them from day one and no matter what the air pressure or how much I try to clean them or scuff them up I just never seem to get that confident type traction from these tires. They do okay on hard packed dirt roads but they have very little bite in the loose stuff. Good tire for straight line street riding but in the corners and off road, not so much.
