Comments about ALPINESTARS Express Drystar Motorcycle Overpants:
Recently purchased to replace my old JR ballistic 4.0 pants, which were flawless for almost 7 years. The side zippers finally gave out completely on the Joe Rocket pants, so had to change them. Those pants were completely waterproof and warm with no liner. By comparison, the Express DS pants seem to leak air through the zippers when riding, which may be OK during warm months but a bit cold in winter. They are lighter weight than the JR pants and seem less solid. I am commuting daily in these pants through all weather conditions (in Paris France). These come with liner but fit tighter than the JR pants - both are in size large. I'm 5'11" and 190lbs and not sure they will fit well with the liner. They are a more trim cut and lower waisted than the JR pants. Haven't had to wear them in the rain yet, so I'm hoping they perform as claimed. In France there is a brand called 'Bering' which are very popular, but I didn't buy because the people I know that have them say they leaked.
