I tried these on and they fit so good that I couldn't believe they went right over my jeans and that little zipper it has on the back zips nicely to my "Tourmaster" jacket, that's a plus. They are a little bulky feeling, but they keep you nice and warm as well as nice sense of protection with the extra padded geared up feeling. You can loose the jeans and the lining if you want, but it's up to you.

The good: they're plenty warm, with or without the zip-in liner. In fact, I couldn't see using the liner unless it was nearly freezing out. They seem to be very waterproof, despite not having rubberized zippers. They also seem to be sized right, unlike most other brands. I wear a size 34 in regular pants, and I bought these in 36 to wear as overpants, rather than an XL in most brands. The elastic waist allows you to get into the pockets of your pants without even undoing the waist velcro. At [$], they're attractively priced compared to similar pants from other brands. The bad: There are no pockets at all, and no ventilation short of leaving the cuffs unzipped. Without the liner, and over regular jeans, they started getting warm for me at about 60 degrees off the bike. Which would be OK, were it not for con #2: the leg zippers have waterproof gussets behind the zipper, but the gusset narrows as it goes up your leg. This means removing your shoes or boots to put on or remove the pants. The gusset also has an uncanny ability to get into the zipper. I'd rather have rubberized zippers and a short flap behind the zipper. They also feel very bulky even without the liner, and downright feel like snow pants with the liner in. While the materials mostly seem to be high quality, the first thing I did was remove the liner, and one of the snaps on the loop that hold the cuff of the liner to the pants broke... not a good sign for long term durability if I'm breaking something in the first 5 minutes.

Cons

  • Bulky
  • Zippers Catch

Best Uses

Comments about Typhoon Waterproof Motorcycle Pants:

I tested these pants in a short ride home from work during a moderate rain and they kept me dry which is the main reason why I decided to buy these. They are a bit bulky and feel like a snow pant but the insulation works good in a cold/chilly rain. These pants have liners which would make them work even in cold weather but with the liners out I am not sure how comfortable they will be during a warm rain or above 75 degrees. Planning on keeping these for my trip to Sturgis if I should run into some rain.

Comments about BILT Typhoon Waterproof Motorcycle Pants:

I ride every day,my commmute is 60 miles. These are great in cold weather I have worn them in temps as low as 15 degrees and stayed warm on a 500 mile trip. I stayed very dry in them until the rain liner tore in the croch area( after about 2 years of use)brought htem back to cycle gear they gave me a new pair with a (sorry for the inconvience) great service. Thank you North Charleston.

Comments about Typhoon Waterproof Motorcycle Pants:

I rode with these through a midwest winter (Dec-Feb) and am very happy with the warmth and comfort of these pants. Used on rides at/under freezing where I used a heated jacket/gloves, these pants were more than warm enough alone. No wind gets through them and I my knees were never cold. Simple black style with modest reflective trim/piping.

With the liner removed, they make a decent over-pant with jeans on the few days I got to ride to work.

Notes: There is very little (no?) ventilation so as it warmed up in spring, I had to shelf them in favor of something that breathed. Liner is easy to remove and re-install with one zipper (top) and dual snaps on each leg. Knee armor is reassuring, but fit wasn't perfect for me. Likely because I bought a size larger to ensure use as an over-pant.

Overall very good pants, glad I picked them up and will use next season.

Comments about Typhoon Waterproof Motorcycle Pants:

Riding in 40° weather, the pants kept me completely warm. It's probably fine for most people, but for me, I'll keep the thermal liner in storage unless I'm on a long trip in those temps.
My only complaint was the fit. The waist was perfect, but it was a bit baggy in the thighs and calves, so when I walked, it made a lot of noise.
