I just purchased my QWEST helmet and already I'm glad I did, I no longer have any pressure points I experienced with my old Shurberth helmet and at half the price. I installed my Scala Q2 in about 20 minutes with no problem and I also installed the dark tint visor which eliminated the use of sunglasses. I did notice that it is prone to fogging if the visor is fully closed but I ride with it slightly cracked open so not a real problem. Overall this is a great helmet that I would recommend to anyone looking for a solid helmet for up-right riding.

I use this helmet on a bike with a partial fairing. After the break-in period, I would definitely say that this helmet is noisy. I use this helmet for commuting 120 miles round trip. I wear ear plugs. I can get the helmet to be reasonably quiet with the visor locked and facing forward, but as soon as I turn my head, the wind breaks the seal, which normally results in whistling noises. Also, I commute in an area with regular fog, the helmet is prone to fogging at low speeds. I've tried a number of anti-fog products with passable results. Lastly, the ventilation could be better. Overall, I feel like I don't get that much airflow in this helmet as compared to my last Shoei. The fit is great, no fault there. I bought this helmet thinking that I was going to get a fairly quiet helmet at a great price, but it turns out that, as usual, you get what you pay for. I would have/should have spent more money on a better helmet.

Comments about SHOEI Qwest Solid Full-Face Motorcycle Helmet:

The fit and comfort are excellent. I tried different brands, and this one fits me perfectly. The ventilation is good, even behind a windshield. A bit on the heavy side, but can be worn comfortably on long rides. Overall, it's a great helmet.

Comments about SHOEI Qwest Solid Full-Face Motorcycle Helmet:

Good helmet, now! The first one I had whistled when I turned my head to the left, even with the face shield totally closed and locked. The Cycle Gear manager here in town was most helpful however, when I explained the issue to him. He immediately took it and gave me a replacement, wow, now thats customer service! The second one I received is nice and quiet. Very light and has broad visibilty on both sides.

Comments about Qwest Solid Full-Face Motorcycle Helmet:

I purchased my new Qwest when I bought a new bike. I've always heard that Shoei helmets are great. I like the appearance, fit, and light weight. The problem is that the visor seems to always fog up. It's also hot. There is no air circulation in the facial area. I can feel cooler air on top of my head, but my face is burning up. I've notice that the visor also seems to magnify the heat when the sun is shining through. That may be more noticeable because of the lack of facial ventilation. This helmet is quieter than my Scorpion, but only if the visor is closed. The problem is that you have to leave the visor cracked to prevent fogging and for cooling, so the quietness is negated. I always thought my Scorpion was sort of heavy and noisy, but even so, the Shoei heat and fogging issues make the Scorpion a better choice, and for less money.
