Comments about SIDI ST Air Motorcycle Boots:

same basic boot as before w/successful design for protection. however, I think Sidi is starting to play around now in an attempt to make something new and different each year. e.g., the older style that used a velcroed closure flap over the zipper was far easier and better than the "monkey motion" buckles because, unlike the buckles, the velcro is just as secure, if not moreso, and it is infinitely adjustable for when you may want to close them over vs under a cuff, e.g. a track suit. the flap also adds water resistance over the zipper and the earlier boot never needed the stretch fabric either because it broke in quickly and zipped up and down just fine. the new ST leaves both the zipper and the stretch panel exposed to water ( if you want the perf model then of course it doesn't matter) finally, the buckles don't adjust-- instead you have to pop open and slide the plastic tab in and out on each side separately in order to readjust for over vs under cuff wear. so, as a street boot for occasional track days the ST isn't really much better than the Vortice or the older style corsas. For an additional $80 the Vortice is the better buy since the presumed "convenience" of the top buckles fails to live up to that promise.
