Comments about DAINESE Map Base Windstopper Long Sleeve Top:
After a Freeze-out didn't last a full season I went back to Dainese for their known quality. This top has tight, rolled triple-stiching on every seam. You can pull it on and off all you want and won't lose a stitch for several riding seasons.
The different fabrics in specific areas really make this the best liner/layer out there. The Thermolite (grey) areas are like thin fleece while sections that face the typical exposed sections of a rider is a more thick micro-fibre material.
I use this under my summer jacket w/ it's removable liner (A-Star SMX) so that I don't need a specific jacket just for SoCal's mild winters. On my 18m trip to work, there's 35°F sections in the mountain valley mornings and I'm snug as a bug with this on.
It's also not too warm and would make a great spring layer as well. As it gets warmer during a ride, I've confortably kept it on up to 75°F before wanting to peal down. Also used it under tight fitting leathers during cold CLASS morning courses, so it's far from bulky.
This is well worth the money over competing brands or even Dainese's own layers just $40 cheaper.
Sizing is Euro where you want to go up a size, if not 2 sizes. I'm small framed and a Large is still a bit snug and makes pealing it off a struggle. The XL is perfect for me and works well over street clothing. If you think you wear large street clothes, consider 2XL for the best fit.
The picture is not up, but it's Black, white, and Grey (the lower priced Thermal Map top that's currently listed has this top's image. That product is all grey)
